Day 2: Wake up to loud yet melodious chirping of birds befitting a forest, rafting safari or wild rafting: approaching rivulet of Karnali a branch from major Karnali passing through the national park forming islands and grasslands.
We wait at the same vantage point for sighting silently for 3 hours and a lone tusker (more dangerous is more violent than the ones in a team. (maverick) luckily we did not get noticed, wild animal sighting in total wilderness is a breath taking experience of course accompanied by an expert guide. the during the rivulet driving for 7 hours from Karnali bridge all the way to the park entrance spotted Gangetic river dolphins, deer, magnificent male sambar deer, and finally at around 330 pm when the guide asked to halt the raft at a corner vantage point with a view of two animal path ways, the tiger gave a miss but two magnificent elephants graced the grass land with their presence busy plucking wild green grass from the banks of the rivulet with their trunks and
turning it into mouths. We slowly drifted away as our guide silently sensed and gestured danger, as one of them elephants on the bank may not like our presence, trespassers may be trounced or flung away.
Then after drifting downstream further hoping to more animals and spell bound by the pristine shores, entered irrigation canal that reminded of amazonian forest waters, that ended up in the farms where we disembarked the raft after a swimming in the fresh water irrigation canal fed by river Karnali.
Day 3: Checkout Bardia national park proceed to Nepalgunj airport for flight, Tara airlines flight to Rara, 930 am 40 minutes ATR flight to Talcha, airport, an otherwise by road 2 days one way drive via jumla, tough terrain. 1-2 hour steep hiking up and down to Rara lake shore then 4 km walk on lake shore to reach Village heritage resort or the other. lunch and rest in the camping site, then high tea and walk around the lake or into the woods, by sunset return to camp and dinner with bonfire with.
Day 4: after breakfast being trek to view point, 3 hour trek to a view point 500 m high or a 6 hour walk around the lake walk around the lake in bright sunshine, with brooks running into lake, transparent waters. crystal clear oxygen rich waters of Rara lake.
