On the Depth of Heights

(My bold Attempt to translate a poem retaining the rich ornamentation of the poet-statesman, a very oxymoron of a name #AtalBihariVajpayee Atal Bihari = Inert Wanderer former people’s prime minister of India self-made)
Heights oft mistook for greatness
Are nothing but prisons of isolation
Neither trees nor shrubs
Capped by the frost cold as death,
Draped in the shrouds of snow.
In their stonecold embrace
Bubbling laughing river begins her descent
Trickling down drips as if in tears.
Heights whose touch turns water to stone
Whose attainment Minds to narrowness
Yet heights command respect
Challengingly inviting explorers "Scale if you can!"
Where one can post only flagstaffs
But not a sparrow can make a nest
Nor let a tired passerby take a nap in her shady lap
Reality is: it isn't enough to reach heights,
Separated from others, Disconnected from environment
Distancing from near and dear (not create coteries with near & dear)
Standing alone in nullity (taking a stance)
Not to rejoice as strength but a weakness
The more one scales the more one is aloof

In Sync with others, in step with others
Mingle with crowds diverse (not just with the same ilk ghetto #inclusion beyond tokenism)
Forgetting the overrated self
Gives #purpose to existence
Fragrance to life.
Dissolving self-identity in the team's, 
Lost in the abundance of ideas
The planet needs tall leaders
To sow the seeds of #innovation among stars
Not too high where feet don’t get dirty
Nor a thorn pricks them
Nor grows a blade of grass beneath
Nor a flower blooms around
Devoid of lively spring, fall, summer, and rains
Shivering from cold round the year
Only to face seasons two winters, peak winters.
My head aloft on those dizzy heights
Oh, Lord! Let my feet be anchored in ground
Resonate with worldly vibrance of life around.
Give me not those dry heights so mighty
Sans the embrace of those UNLIKE me.
